I met God today!

We'd been hearing the rumor for weeks.

"God lives here! Right here at Huntington Ridge."

God? Did we understand that right?

We kept asking, "Are you sure? Where does God live?"

"Right in that building!" the kids insisted. "Right over there! That's where God lives."

Then we met him. This Gaad.

He's a sweet young man who will be in the ninth grade next year. He lives with his brothers, among them Priest and Saint. (I'm not kidding.) Their electricity was shut off for a couple of weeks so they went to live with their grandmother. Now they're back again, and I'm happy to see them in the neighborhood.

The longer I've been here, the more certain I am that God really does live at Huntington Ridge. You may recall that just before Jesus returned to heaven, He told His followers to feed the hungry, give thirsty people something to drink, welcome strangers, visit the sick and those in prison, and give clothing to those who need it. Jesus said, "When you do this for the least of these, you do it to Me."
Today, our visitors from Holly Springs Baptist Church returned to play with the children, feed them snacks, give them cold drinks and most important . . .
. . . tell them that Jesus loves them!
Take a look at these faces. I think I see God at Huntington Ridge. Do you?
